Programme
We at Triptoscana have been traveling the region of Tuscany since 2012 and we know it like the back of our hand. During this trip we will take you to the small city of Volterra, steeped in history dating back 4 millenia, and other picturesque medieval hill towns and villages. Osvaldo will be delighted to introduce you to the Italian lifestyle with tips, stories and anecdotes.
During the morning we will take you on a tour to the best local, artisan food producers. You will taste, see and smell what master cheese makers, winegrowers and many others produce. We will show you only the best so you can experience the soul of Tuscany and “La dolce vita”. In the afternoon we start with the cooking workshop and end the day with an excellent dinner. |

The Chef
Federico Frosali, a passionate cook, was born and raised in Tuscany where his grandmother passed on her passion for cooking to him. He gives lessons to entrepreneurs in the hospitality industry, is often asked to be a “Chef at home”, has developed his own line of delicious products made with the best ingredients and, together with his wife, runs a shop which sells local products. Since 2020 we at Triptoscana, have been working, with great culinary pleasure, with Federico.

The stay
During this cooking trip we will stay in a villa on an estate in the province of Pisa. The villa is an authentic podere, beautifully situated on a wooded hill with a view of the surrounding hills. The villa has a vast garden with a great swimming pool for warm days. And for cooking there is a large kitchen and a nice dining room. In the villa, each room has its own bathroom.

We had high hopes for the "Cooking in Tuscany" trip with Federico Frosali and we were certainly not disappointed. Had a fantastic trip in the theme of Tuscan food with the beautiful country house Podere Casale as a base. Learned a lot from the expert chef Federico, who explained different techniques and shared helpful tips on cutting, cooking and planning preparations. I admire his passion for cooking and food and how well he explained everything and at the same time kept an overview of everything. This led to delicious meals, accompanied by excellent wines, and therefore to a lot of fun. The outings with Vincent & Osvaldo were also very successful: interesting visits, even more delicious food, and it was great to hear all kinds of information about this beautiful region from these insiders.

At the end of May 2022, my husband and I went to Tuscany for a midweek "Cooking in Tuscany with Chef Federico". Our expectations were more than exceeded. It turned out to be a really wonderful trip, where everything was just right. From staying in the lovely Villa Podere Casale, the incredibly fun and well-maintained trips with lunch to cooking a 4-course dinner every evening with the sweet and always patient Chef Federico. Everything went in a super relaxed atmosphere, the company of our cooking group but also of Vincent and Osvaldo was great and eating the homemade meal together in the evening, outside under the roof, with delicious wine, made this trip unforgettable. This was our first, but definitely not our last experience with TripToscana!

Had a wonderful time in Tuscany. Podere Casale is beautiful and wonderfully quiet. The weather was also very cooperative. Frederico is a chef who cooks according to his family tradition, actually using his grandmother's recipes. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes delicious! Nothing is thrown away, what is left from one dish is used for another dish. Frederico explains very well and is happy to answer your questions. The meals, and also the preparation of them, were a party!
Triptoscana's guidance is, in one word, great! After a good and varied breakfast you set off. You make trips in the area followed by lunch. In addition to being fun, these trips are also educational ;-)

Vincent and Osvaldo from Triptoscana gave us four wonderful days. Not only because of the cooking workshops, but everything was good and nice. Our accommodation villa Podere Casale with swimming pool is beautifully situated in the green Tuscan hills. During our meals on the veranda we fully enjoyed the view. The "culinary package" included breakfast, excursions, lunch, cooking workshops and all conversations about healthy and good food with Osvaldo, Vincent and the cook Federico. We were able to get acquainted with Tuscan cuisine. Federico, our cook, chose the recipes and bought the ingredients. With his expert instructions and cooking tips, we made the most delicious meals. The leg of lamb with a crust of butter, sage and rosemary was the winner for me. Vincent and Osvaldo provided a nice setting, and the nice people in the group did the rest. I look back with pleasure!!! Thank you.

Wake up in a beautiful villa with a view over the enchanting landscape of Tuscany. That was my second special experience during Triptoscana's cooking course in October at villa Podere Casale. The day before received such a warm and friendly welcome from the hosts Vincent and Osvaldo. In the evening our first cooking lesson of that week of 4 courses from the sympathetic Italian chef Federico, who patiently taught us the tricks of the Tuscan kitchen in well-understood English. Delicious eaten. What an experience! Together with the fellow students, what a nice group!, we made special visits every day to traditional regional businesses under the leadership of Vincent and Osvaldo. What a wealth of delicious Tuscan products. In short, seen a lot and learned a lot. Met lovely people and... I can't wait for the next course I will take through Triptoscana!!

The cooking workshop organized by Triptoscana was really a very nice experience. The cook Frederico is top notch, his dishes are very varied and adaptable on request. One question was enough to have it on the menu the next day.
The excursions in the morning and the subsequent lunches were pleasant and instructive (yes, a wine tasting at 10 am! Must be possible, right?) I so enjoyed Osvaldo's stories and Vincent is a walking encyclopedia of Italy!

I really have to search for words. How do you describe atmosphere, dedication, cooking pleasure and staying in Tuscan splendor, in a few sentences? Well, I'll put it this way: the cooking trip, the organisation and guidance, the fun, the conversations and working together in the kitchen and the day trips with lunches are ….. unforgettable. After just one evening, strangers were great travel and cooking companions (Dutch?) and that was super facilitated by Vincent, Osvaldo and Federico. It is almost impossible not to want to experience this festival again.

The day tours were well organised, with a nice mix between active and relaxing. It is also wonderful to know that every time a nice lunch is arranged in a restaurant, where the wine flows freely. After the day tour, there is Federico's cooking workshop in the afternoon. Federico has a clear vision and can convey it very well. He guides everyone in the group fantastically, and the dishes that are on the table at the end ... To lick your fingers. Because you get to take the recipes home, you can also enjoy them at home.
By the way, don't be afraid of the idea of a cooking tour. We always worked in pairs on one dish, under the careful supervision of Federico. You therefore have all the time and space you need while cooking, so you can relax in the kitchen. That gave us an extra holiday feeling.

The cooking trip in Tuscany organised by Vincent & Osvaldo was a trip you will never forget. The food was delicious and chef Federico was a real professional from whom we learned a lot. Every evening we were eager to get back to work with our cooking aprons on. We had a nice group, with whom we enjoyed going on the excursions. Everywhere Vincent & Osvaldo took us was a success; the wine tasting, cheese factory, family pasta factory and beautiful trips to Tuscan villages. When we spent another day in Pisa, we felt completely deprived without the guidance of Vincent & Osvaldo haha! If you doubt whether this is worth it, doubt no more: do it!

I had a very nice time with my children in Tuscany. The cooking class was very exciting and helpful. The chef Federico taught us a lot, we were able to learn a lot and benefit from his experience. He is a talent and master of his craft! Vincent and Osvaldo organised great excursions for us. We didn't get bored. Together with my children I was able to get to know Tuscany better. Everything was perfectly organised, we were looked after very well, there was something exciting on the program every day and the food was excellent. I enjoyed such fine and healthy food at Federico's, a big compliment to this star chef!!!!

Two years after our first cooking trip with Triptoscana, we were back in Tuscany for a second edition. And then it can actually only be disappointing, you think. But on the contrary, we enjoyed it immensely again. From our villa, the beautiful landscape and the care and guidance of Vincent and Osvaldo and our chef Federico. From the first minute we felt completely at home again and we were helped on all sides to make it an unforgettable experience again. Cooking in Tuscany will forever become a regular feature, it seems.

We found it to be a lot of fun!! An experience richer in Italian cuisine. The dishes together with the group and under the guidance of Federico were great! It's also nice to have an amuse-bouche with a delicious prosecco in between. The villa was beautifully situated and we really enjoyed the excursions. It's nice that you both speak the language fluently, so the questions could be answered during the outings. All in all, highly recommended for anyone who wants a different holiday and enjoys cooking.

I made the cooking tour to Tuscany together with my daughter. Although I had some reservations beforehand, it was more than 100% to my liking. The course was fun with many different dishes and the rest of the day program was a real surprise with the visit to various beautiful villages where Vincent and Osvaldo knew a lot to tell. The group was very nice and while eating the homemade dishes there was a lot of talking and laughing. The visits to various artiginal producers, such as the cheese factory, sausage factory and pasta factory were also a success. All in all, this trip was a very big success for me. Thanks again Vincent and Osvaldo.

At the end of October, beginning of November, we had the privilege of taking a midweek cooking course with Triptoscana in a typical Italian Podere (country house). The country house had several bedrooms with the necessary comfort and each with its own bathroom. In the spacious kitchen we had cooking lessons every evening from a super friendly Italian chef, who also speaks excellent English during the lessons. Every evening we prepared a number of different Italian dishes in a group, suggestions were also included in the following cooking lessons.
The mornings were planned to explore the region of Terricciola and Volterra together with the 2 organizers Osvaldo and Vincent. They took us to interesting, typical and beautiful small companies and places where we had lunch together at noon. Always very tasty at these locations and since Vincent and Osvaldo themselves know a lot about the region, they were incredibly interesting tour guides.
The weather was also very pleasant in this period, you could still sit outside and enjoy the autumn sun. I would recommend it to everyone to try it. I am still enjoying this fantastic experience.
