Riccardo and Susanna are the owners of Santa Maria a Poneta, originally a medieval hamlet. There is even a small chapel which now serves as a reception. It is an idyllic place with beautiful views all around. Santa Maria a Poneta is located in the sunny countryside of Tuscany close to the Chianti area. Ideal for those who want to explore this world famous wine region. The location is strategic for those who want to visit the cities of Florence, Siena and San Gimignano. Also Volterra and Monteriggioni are within easy reach.
The agriturismo also produces wine and olive oil. You can visit the cantina and of course taste the delicious Chianti wines. Not to mention a true vin santo, one that is matured in chestnut wood barrels for 3 years.
Santa Maria a Poneta has five apartments for guests. Riccardo and Susanna also live in this hamlet. All apartments have a private terrace and all around the beautiful groomed garden with of course the swimming pool. The apartments are tastefully romantically decorated and equipped with every luxury.
