Tuscany is characterized by a wide variety of wine regions that are very different in location, landscape and wine. Over the last few years, around thirty new wine cellars have been built with impressive architecture. This is the first in a series of tours with the title Cathedrals of wine. Programme
During this trip we will visit five wineries. In Castello di Fonteruttoli of the Mazzei family we descend to the new wine cellar on the day of arrival. The next day: a tour and tasting at Castello di Verrazzano where we also have lunch.After lunch we will take the time to stroll through the picturesque town of Greve in Chianti. Then the impressive architectural winery of Antinori is on the program, an amazing Cathedral of the wine. The third day first to Badia a Coltibuono, a magical place where the Etruscans already made wine. After the visit to Radda in Chianti we go to Istine. A small family winery that has only been making wine since the 1950s. In the middle of nature with fantastic views we will taste great Chianti Classico wines.
During the days the travel times are limited and everywhere we take the time so you can fully enjoy the Chianti Classico region with its architecture, landscape, delicious food and excellent wine! |

Accommodation
We will stay at Hotel Palazzo Squarcialupi in the old town of Castellina in Chianti. The hotel is located in a centuries-old residential palace and has only 15 rooms. It has a lovely garden at the rear overlooking the Chianti hills. And there is also a pool! The rooms have been restored in the authentic style and are equipped with every comfort and each with its own bathroom. Breakfast is a delicious extensive buffet.
